After loving the results I got out of the Leica, I decided to shoot some Portra in my Rollei last week at the Orange County Fair. I only managed one roll in the heat, but I got some keepers!
Full disclosure, I’m colorblind! Consequently, I never really shoot color film. I used to in the past, for landscapes, but that was about the only time. I’ve never been able to color correct my own images so I stuck to black and white.
Picked up a cool soft release at www.themoregooder.com made out of recycled wood and skateboards! Works awesome and looks snazzy!
I’ve been playing with some SX-70 film from the Impossible Project. I love the effect I’m getting, unfortunately, they’re from a batch of defects film so I’m not sure I’ll be able to get the effect again.
Ever since I heard the name, I’d always coveted a Leica. After a few years, I finally got one. A lovely M6 with a 35 Summicron asph. I shot and shot and shot and swore I’d be buried with it someday. Then digital happened.
I got a roll of Ilford Delta 100 back from the lab yesterday. I can honestly say I think my Rolleiflex might be my favorite camera ever. That’s probably sacrilege considering my absolutely love for Leica, but it’s true. There’s something special about the 6×6 negs and I definitely prefer a built in lens.
