Full disclosure, I’m colorblind! Consequently, I never really shoot color film. I used to in the past, for landscapes, but that was about the only time. I’ve never been able to color correct my own images so I stuck to black and white.
A friend of mine recently turned me on to a lab called The Darkroom in San Clemente that does great work. I’d always assumed he did the editing of his color himself but he said no, the stuff he posted were straight, unedited Super Scans from them.
It’s a lot more expensive, but I figured I’d give it a try. It’s worth it to me to not have to have someone help me edit my work. I sent off a couple rolls and these were the first back.
I have a feeling I’ll be doing a lot of color work in the near future. Next up is to see how my Rolleiflex handles it!
