I got a roll of Ilford Delta 100 back from the lab yesterday. I can honestly say I think my Rolleiflex might be my favorite camera ever. That’s probably sacrilege considering my absolutely love for Leica, but it’s true. There’s something special about the 6×6 negs and I definitely prefer a built in lens.
I’m one of those people that ends up packing the whole kitchen sink when I go shooting so I always have everything, just in case! It’s refreshing to have only the one taking lens on the rollei. Along with my hood, light meter, and some film, I’m set to go. I don’t usually take extra filters although I do have some closeup. I’ve never really tried them and tend to just stick to the 80mm. It’s hard to beat!!!
I need to get in a better habit of taking the camera with me more often. I don’t have a proper bag for it, but I’ve been eyeing the Everyday Messenger Bag from Peak Design. It really seems to be the perfect bag to carry the camera and it’s accessories, plus my nook and a ton of film! I was hoping to pick it up before I head to Oklahoma next month, but I think it’s going to have to wait for the time being.
